Scholars from first grade and our Inspirational pathways program have been working with artist, Lynn Hiltz Miller to create a mural depicting our school using their thumbprints. Each scholar used their thumbprint to create a character or object on the mural. stop by and see the finished product!


Sr. Boys Basketball

Our Sr. Boys Basketball team finished the season undefeated! On Saturday, February 7th they defeated CE Williams 61-59 in a gut wrenching game. Both teams were previously undefeated. Our Gators head into tournament play on Thursday, February 12th at 7:30 at Fort Johnson Middle School on James Island. Come out and support our Gators!

Basketball playoffs

The Gators fought hard against CE Williams in the final game of tournament play and fell short, earning second place in the league.  Tough loss, but a great season for the Gators.

Bakari Sellers

Bakari Sellers visited with our Backpack Journalists class in honor of black history month. The students wrote an article about his visit.

CCSD Board Meeting

Kierra Wellington presented her monologue and video (made in conjunction with YoArt) from Sing de Song III in honor of black History Month at the most recent CCSD board meeting. One of the subjects of the film, Dr. Millicent Brown, one of the first students to desegregate the CCDS schools, was present as well.
