Amanda Hobson believes in the power of education to change student lives. Ms. Hobson has spent most of her career teaching 1st grade and as a Master Reading Teacher. In college she studied Early Childhood Education at Charleston Southern University and later received her Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As Ms. Hobson studied more about the achievement gap it became obvious to her that educators must do more to meet individual student needs. This compelled her to become a more proficient advocate for disadvantaged students and families. All students possess the ability to learn and achieve at high-levels, no matter what. As a Personalized Learning Coach at Sanders Clyde Elementary School her role is to work with classroom teachers to develop and maintain learning environments that address individual student needs, interests and capacities. The goal of Personalized Learning is to create classroom environments with independent learners who are motivated to succeed. Through a great education, Ms. Hobson believes that every single child in our country has the opportunity to find success in life.
